We are seeking a talented and dedicated Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our clients growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor with 1-3 years PQE to advance their career in a supportive and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the timely progression of client work by handling a busy caseload with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, consistently exceeding their service expectations. Promote the firm’s full range of services, particularly focusing on probate matters, by actively participating in marketing activities. Adhere to firm policies, procedures, and quality standards when managing client work assigned by the Head of Department or other fee-earners. Keep clients regularly updated on realistic outcomes, progress, and costs, ensuring the expeditious progression of their work. Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation, complying with Law Society and GDPR regulations. Achieve agreed-upon annual billing and time recording targets. Build and foster positive working relationships with internal and external institutions and organisations. Provide necessary support to other team members, contributing to team objectives and promoting the firm’s values. Skills and Experience: Demonstrated ability to progress work quickly with meticulous attention to detail. Proven experience in contentious trust and probate matters, constituting at least 40% of previous caseload. Experience in non-contentious private client work is advantageous. Strong organisational, communication, and potential leadership skills. Excellent client-facing abilities, including nurturing existing relationships and developing new business through networking events. Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and maturity in client interactions. Ambitious, eager to learn, and capable of making a significant impact within the firm. Skilled in developing new sources of work and introductions. Proficiency in IT, particularly with case management systems (ideally SOS). Capable of prioritising work and meeting strict deadlines.
