Deputy Homes Manager
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Deputy Homes Manager to work full time based in High Wycombe.
The salary for this permanent Deputy Homes Manager job is up to £32,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commit to providing a safe and inclusive environment at all times and be resilient in providing support for those who need it the most.
2. Play a vital role in running the Children's Home and help direct the day-to-day operations.
3. Support and work alongside the Registered Manager of the Children's Home in efficiently co-managing the house budget, overseeing the development of staff and the young people in placement, formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments, and positive handling plans.
4. Be responsible for the effective development and delivery of high-quality residential services to children, young people, and their families which improve outcomes.
5. Show strong leadership and management skills, ensuring that team members work effectively with children, young people, families, and all internal and partner agency staff.
6. Carry out statutory duties as determined, principally in relevant childcare legislation, children's homes regulations, and standards.
7. Help the home get registered with Ofsted and be involved in the recruitment process for staff.
8. Be responsible for the day-to-day operation/management of an Ofsted regulated residential provision.
9. Ensure the highest standards of emotional, social, and physical care, promoting best outcomes for young people through research, development, and partnership.
10. Contact agencies to fill vacancies.
11. Deliver highly motivated leadership and development to the team for which you are responsible.
12. Ensure that training is relevant, robust, and effective and that the training program is dynamic and adaptive to the needs of current residents.
13. Ensure that the staff team adheres to training requirements and timescales.
14. Develop high standards of communication with social work teams, the Virtual School, clinicians, and other key partners.
15. Ensure the provision maximizes resources within a planned timescale and ensures all services are delivered in a way that maximizes the participation of young people, respects their rights, and is responsive to their wishes and views.
16. Take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home's Statement of Purpose.
17. Ensure all safeguarding risks are acted upon immediately and the relevant action taken to mitigate the risk.
Requirements:
1. Level 3 Children, Young Person and Family Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification.
2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. An understanding of the needs of looked after young people.
5. Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and statutory guidance.
6. An understanding of intervention strategies.
