LGV, Class 1 Driver Shift: Sunday to Thursday - Nights Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour Location: Castle Donnington As a growing company, we are looking for an experienced LGV class 1 lorry driver based out of our Buy It Direct Castle Donnington site. You will take responsibility for the transfer of internal stock within our logistics department, throughout the UK and the movement of trailers onsite. What else will you have to do? Transport stock between internal departments and operational sites. Drive defensively and avoid risks that could lead to product or vehicle damage. Inspect vehicles for defects and safety issues and report to the Transport department. Read and understand work instructions, follow planned routes, achieve arrival times, and follow all site health and safety and other rules. Retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with driving rules and other driving regulations (e.g. size, weight, route designations, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions without damage or risk to self or colleagues Report defects, accidents, or violations Care for the vehicle and equipment and ensure it is kept to a good standard of cleanliness and general condition In exceptions, carry out other duties (which may not always involve driving an LGV) Moving trailers between local sites within West Yorkshire - REMOVE Long Runs Shunting trailers on and off bays Able to work with remote supervision, using own initiative as required You may occasionally be asked to assist with loading or off-loading product So what’s really important to us? Proven work experience as a Class 1 HGV lorry driver Always willing to work extended hours and travel regularly, (this is a core requirement for this role) Extensive knowledge of applicable lorry driving rules and regulations Clean driving licence ideally, note we do not employ drivers with more than 6 penalty points or convictions for drink/drug driving or insurance related convictions Flexible and Adaptable, with the foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) and report them effectively to the Transport Team Licence Requirements: In date CE licence, driver vocational CPC, tacho card Friendly, approachable, and able to communicate to colleagues within each department and site.
