The Opportunity
As a Contracts Manager, you will thrive as a subject matter expert and strategically lead the efficient and cost-effective delivery of a portfolio of Hard and Soft Facilities Management contracts to provide maintenance services and assets management planning for all County Council owned or occupied corporate buildings.
Your expertise will be instrumental in providing oversight for the delivery of all capital maintenance projects across the WSCC estate and School’s estate delivered by the Hard FM Contractor.
Reporting to the Facilities Management Operations Manager, you will be directly accountable for a revenue budget of £5m and potential capital delivery projects of an additional £6m a year.
Your focus will be on the tactical and strategic delivery of the Hard Facilities Management Contract. Alongside this, you will line manage, mentor, motivate and support the growth and development of the Soft Facilities Management Contract Manager and their team.

About You
The ideal candidate will have strong contract management skills and hold a degree or equivalent qualification in the specialist area of Construction Procurement / Contract Management or equivalent level of experience. We expect a minimum of 5 years' experience in Contract Management within the Facilities Management industry.
You will have experience of managing teams from different disciplines with excellent interpersonal skills.
We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners, and decision-makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement in the Facilities Management service.
Strong communication and pragmatic problem-solving abilities are a must, as you’ll be the go-to person for resolving any issues that may arise.
You will have valuable experience in delivering strategic and commercially sound advice and expertise to significant and complex projects.
