Then consider the position of Employment and Skills Trainer at Reed in Partnership Internal applications for this role close on 29/08/2024 What the job is about An Employment & Skills Trainer delivers Reed in Partnership’s training programmes. They are responsible for, in conjunction with the Support Workers and/or employers, promoting training and identifying the training needs of Participants and/or the needs of Employers. They are also responsible for delivering training; assessing against relevant criteria on accredited qualification delivery; evaluating outcomes; providing follow-up support to Participants; administration and continuous improvement of training. An Employment & Skills Trainer will use a variety of training skills and activities to engage and empower Participants and to progress them to achieve sustainable employment. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with Experience of working in a fast paced, performance target driven environment. Experience of being accountable for own work e.g. following lessons plans/filling course with Participants. Minimum of 2 years experience of delivering courses/working in a training environment Occupational competency in at least one of: Customer service, retail, business administration or hospitality and catering A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma. GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage. Desirable Attainments: Experience of working with/training participants that have Criminal Convictions/Criminal Records Recognised teaching qualifications; Certificate of Education (Cert. Ed) or Post-Graduate Certificate in education (PGCE). A recognised teaching/training qualification or studying for one (City and Guilds 7407 or 7304, PTLLS/CTLLS/DTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education) Degree in relevant subject such as teaching or languages. Experience of working with client groups which may include incapacity benefit claimants, single parents, those with criminal records, mental health groups, ex-services, specific ethnic minority or faith groups and those with specific disabilities. Direct previous experience of a similar role. Roles considered to be similar include the role of trainer on a welfare to work contract or publicly funded services. Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Gujarati, Polish, Serbian, Greek and Portuguese (Dependent on programme). Essential Criteria: Employment & Skills Trainer attainments include Achievement Orientation, Challenge and Resilience, Flexibility and Adaptability, Empathy and Understanding, Planning and Decision Making, Results Focused Delivery, and Team Orientation. Technical skills include knowledge of welfare/benefits system/labour market, basic numeracy skills and good written communication/report writing skills, strong administration skills, good computer/technology skills and the ability to use technology to deliver training/courses, knowledge of funding streams and provision such as NEET, ESF and SFA. Personal skills include creativity, being inspirational/able to create a personal impact, being able to command attention/control a situation and being hard working/committed/highly motivated. Personal interests include a willingness to learn, commitment to equality of opportunity and an interest in people. Personal circumstances include a willingness to travel locally (e.g. to deliver training/courses/meet Participants/employers).
