Qualifications
Essential criteria
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* At least 2 years' experience in microbiology
Desirable criteria
* MRCP Qualification
Experience and Skills
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates appropriate knowledge base and sound clinical judgement
* Demonstrates basic awareness of importance and impact of infection on clinical practice
* Aware of laboratory skills related to Microbiology and Virology
Desirable criteria
* Able to demonstrate laboratory skills related to Microbiology and Virology
* Experience of clinical specialties where there is a significant component of infection, including infectious diseases
Personal
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates understanding of the principles and importance of audit and research.
* Effective communication skills (with examples)
* Good organisation skills (with examples)
* Works well within a multidisciplinary environment.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of relevant academic and research achievements, e.g. degrees, prizes, awards, distinctions, publications, presentations, other achievements
