Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist to join our client's dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing NDT examinations on composite and metallic aircraft materials, components, and structures in accordance with engineering requirements. This position offers a high level of autonomy and requires expertise in Eddy Currents and Ultrasonic testing, with an EN4179 (or equivalent) Level 2 certification.
The NDT Specialist will report functionally and operationally to the NDT Group Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) on aircraft materials, components, and structures across all business areas.
Ensure compliance with all in-house technical requirements, including:
Documentation control
Continuation training for operational teams
Operational surveillance
Generating NDT reports to support concession approvals
Reviewing and formulating NDT instructions
Provide line-side support to operations, including Andon support and Practical Problem-Solving (PPS) support.
Assist in internal and external audits to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
Support concession reduction projects by identifying and addressing defects early.
Perform performance checks on in-house NDT instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Maintain personal approvals and certifications in line with the applicable NDT certification scheme and evolving business requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
EN4179 (or equivalent) Level 2 certification in Eddy Currents and Ultrasonic testing.
Proven experience in non-destructive testing and inspection methods for both composite and metallic materials.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess defects and recommend corrective actions.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for reporting and team collaboration.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable:
Familiarity with SAP systems and processes for NDT operations.
Previous experience working in an aerospace or aviation environment.
