We are looking for a full-time Advanced Health Care Assistant (AHCA) to work with our community nursing teams, who play an important role in supporting patients by caring for them in the comfort of their own home. Your role will help the NHS meet the needs of elderly, disabled or vulnerable patients who may not be able to easily visit the GP surgery or hospital. You will work both autonomously and collaboratively within a supportive environment, ensuring excellent patient care whilst reassuring and helping families along the way.
You will be based at Abbey Court and will work closely with our GP colleagues and other community services. We help meet your career ambitions through our flexible in-house learning and development programs including many health and wellbeing opportunities available to you.
You'll be required to have the qualification level specified in the person specification in order to carry out the job, however, we do welcome applications from individuals currently looking to complete their level 3 NVQ or equivalent recognized qualification. Therefore, if you do not have the essential qualification for the role, this may not be an automatic barrier to you being offered an interview.
You'll need good IT skills and will require clinical skills, for example, phlebotomy, simple wound dressings, bandaging, and injection technique, all of which we can support with learning and competencies.
Together we can empower you to really make a difference to patients’ lives. The very different world we are living in at the moment has given us the opportunity to rethink how we provide our services here at KCHFT.
We are proud that KCHFT currently hold DWP Disability Confident Employer status and are working towards Disability Confident Leader accreditation. We welcome applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds and those covered by the Equalities Act.
Rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC, we’ve got a passion for delivering high standards of patient care and excellent services to improve the health of our communities. To do this we need outstanding people who share our values: compassionate, aspirational, responsive, and excellent.
We know a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion leads to better patient care and a happier workforce. We pride ourselves in being diverse and welcome applications from people with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want you to be able to work in a way that is best for us, for our patients, and for you. Talk to us about a flexible working arrangement that won’t involve sacrificing time for personal interests or family commitments. We’ll support you to work flexibly in a way that will suit us both.
