Salary : £66,520 + 13% on call allowance plus excellent benefits

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and technical performance of the Woolwich Ferry technical department ensuring the assets are operated to the standards in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and in accordance with Company’s policies, procedures and standards.
Key Accountabilities
1. Effective technical management of all site assets.
2. Ensure planned maintenance system is continuously maintained and developed.
3. Daily management of technical team with respect to duties and scopes of works.
4. Assist with the management of procurement / stock control.
5. Promote and develop best engineering practice.
6. Develop a culture of excellence and reliability.
7. Management of the Woolwich ferry technical team.
8. Manage external contractors and maintenance contracts.
9. Liaise with the operations manager in the management of operational staff.
10. Manage and have an overview on all technical staff rostering and leave management.
11. Manage the absence management programme for technical staff.
12. Ensure adherence to all best practices and standards, including those issued by company, classification and statutory bodies.
13. Ensure knowledge and understanding of forthcoming legislative/regulatory changes and make recommendations for impact/implementation to senior management in line with asset protection/management.
14. Assume with the operations manager, reporting line management of Master’s and on-board management team including, but not limited to, on board management meetings and RTW interviews.
15. Provide cover for Assistant Engineer Officer and Engineer Officer positions as/when required.
16. Provide technical training and guidance to Assistant Engineer Officer and Engineer Officer positions.
17. Promote ideas which will increase efficiency, reduce operational costs and improve service provision.
18. Report to client on service status.
Skills
* Ability to write technical reports (Essential)
* Ability to use Planned Maintenance Software (Essential)
* Ability to appropriately coach and guide at all levels (Essential)
* Good approach to safety (Essential)
Knowledge
* Qualified B.Eng/C.Eng/Class 1 CoC in Marine/Mechanical Engineering (Desirable)
* Extensive knowledge of ISM code (Essential)
* Experience of working with Planned Maintenance systems (Essential)
* Valid UK driving licence (Essential)
Experience
* Marine Engineering (Essential)
* Team & supplier performance supervision & quality control (Essential)
* Electrical, electronic and control engineering (Desirable)
* Maintenance and repair (Essential)
* Experience with PLC systems (Desirable)
* Experience with budget control and advising asset requirements regarding spares and maintenance (Essential)
