Role Description
This full-time Workshop Manager role is an on-site position located in Weston-Super-Mare. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day workshop operations, overseeing maintenance of fleet vehicles, scheduling repairs and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
* Experience in workshop management and fleet maintenance
* Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
* Strong organizational and leadership skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Technical proficiency in vehicle diagnostics and maintenance
* Certification in automotive technology or related field is a plus
* Previous experience in the transportation industry is beneficial
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Relevant Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering).
* Advanced IRTEC Accreditation.
* Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience in a supervisory or management role within a PSV or HGV maintenance environment, leading a team of engineers.
* Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with experience in data analysis for performance monitoring and cost tracking.
* Proficient in computer applications, including workshop management software.
* Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other key departmental managers.
* A Transport Manager CPC qualification would be advantageous, as would PSV licence entitlements. However, for the right candidate, we would provide training to obtain both.
Basic Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum.
