The Coronary, Renal Denervation & CathWorks (CRDN) team are responsible for establishing Medtronic as ‘The Cardiovascular Company’ to partner with to help Physicians reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease through leveraging our combined portfolio. Our customers are clinical and non-clinical, and mainly (but not exclusively) within the Interventional Cardiology specialities in Tertiary Centres and District General Hospitals. They include Interventional Cardiologists, Hypertension Specialists, Cardiac Cath Lab managers, Theatre managers, Specialist nurses, Directorate managers and Procurement. Our products/therapies are used to treat/in the treatment of patients with Coronary Artery Disease and Hypertension.
The primary focus of this role is to coach, develop and motivate the sales team to grow the Medtronic CRDN business through close partnership with both implanting and non-implanting centres. The role will require significant time out in the field with the team and customers.
The constant focus on developing innovative solutions has now moved in to ‘Launch & Execution Phase ’ with the commercialization of CathWorks AngioFFR, together with Renal Denervation (RDN) that’s gained National and Internation Consensus Statements and Guideline adoption over the last 12 months. These two innovations have been clearly identified as important Medtronic Growth Drivers and the expectation is that the UK&I Coronary, Renal Denervation and CathWorks team will be ‘The Leading Business across EMEA’ in delivering this opportunity .
A Day in the Life
You will be responsible for:
• Ensuring the team drive the use of the full range of CRDN products in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals, managing the quality and consistency of product and service delivery.
• Setting clear business objectives with the Sales Team on an individual account level, ensuring each objective is SMART, have clear execution strategies, and clear focus on accountability/ownership of objectives.
• Bringing innovative ideas to the CRDN Leadership Team (LT) and sharing success stories/best practice.
• Defining, together with the Business Manager, Commercial Operations, Product Specialists, Training and Education Manager, and in line with EMEA direction, the most effective commercial strategies to be applied in the UK to achieve the sales and profitability targets assigned.
• Creating an atmosphere of commercial excellence in the team delivering on all key metrics quarterly and annually.
• Ensuring that relevant data and information are collected on the market and properly communicated within the organization, in collaboration with CRDN marketing.
• Identifying and resolving client concerns when/if the team require high level of decision making.
Must Haves
• Proven track record in people management incl. coaching, development and performance management of individuals/teams
• Strong business acumen and experience of working successfully in a matrix organisation
• Demonstrable track record of strong personal development
• Experience of executing successful product launches, territory planning and forecasting experience (from a sales/sales management perspective)
• Experience in medical device sales
• Strong ability to spot business opportunities and to persuade and influence others internally and externally
• Driving license
Nice to Haves
• University degree in business administration or science
• Professional coaching qualification
• Experience of working in the Coronary / Peripheral Vascular specialities
• Proven track record in people management at Medtronic
• Understanding of/experience of using the Integrity Selling approach
