What to Expect
To work as part of the McLaren Automotive Production Team producing road cars and controlling the activities of a group of Production Team Members.
What You'll Do
1. Achieving the daily/annual volume throughput.
2. Contributing to achieving the quality standards required.
3. Control all health & safety requirements for persons and equipment within their work stations, including management of training, maintenance, and implementation of products.
4. Contributing to the maintenance, upkeep, and reporting of the Business Development Plans (BDP’s) in your area.
5. Execution of methodologies for Lean Manufacturing, such as 5S, 7 wastes, and continuous improvement, always striving for perfection.
6. Understand & demonstrate a broad knowledge of the build process to provide training & assist when issues arise.
7. Provide cover for absence within your team and have a flexible approach to working hours as the business demands.
8. Train & mentor Team Members to achieve high quality in working practices and processes.
9. Assist in the continuous improvement of production & business processes, i.e. quality, safety, cost, productivity.
10. Prepare for production by checking resource, equipment, tools, parts availability, consumables, etc. on a daily basis.
11. Assist Line Manager to produce maintenance schedules, monitor uptime of machinery, and ensure daily checks are conducted.
12. Take part in problem-solving activities – assist in analysis & resolution of problems, define & determine appropriate actions.
13. Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and that all Team Members are using the correct protective clothing.
14. When required, aid the Line Manager in conducting performance reviews for areas of your team who require improvement, considering training, regular reviews, etc.
15. Maintain and endorse McLaren values and culture (housekeeping, appearance, etc.).
16. Lead by example, influence all Team Members, and ensure they are fully motivated.
What You'll Bring
1. No formal qualifications are necessary; however, a foundation degree in engineering would be preferred.
2. Understanding and experience in a manufacturing/process-driven environment is essential.
3. For some positions, specific skills may be required, e.g. composite lay-up & reparation, vehicle repair, etc.
4. Must be able to demonstrate a broad job knowledge of automotive processes and specific skills for the area in question.
5. Good level of knowledge for Microsoft Office packages.
