An amazing opportunity to work in one of the only two accredited Montessori Nurseries in Scotland. This is a well-established, growing, and innovative nursery with a Forest School attached. Our client is looking for a Level 3 experienced Early Years Practitioner to join their devoted team. This unique setting allows children to begin their early development and learning through the ethos of Montessori practices. You will be joining an established team in the baby room.
Purpose of role::
•To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an inclusive Montessori curriculum suitable to meet the children's individual needs.
•To ensure a high standard of education for the children.
•To give support to your other team members
•To implement the curriculum and ensure all the children's individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
•To observe and assess children's development and keep accurate record of their achievements.
Key Requirements:
•Detailed knowledge and understanding of GIRFEC, CFE and Realising the Ambition is essential.
•A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
•Relevant experience of the age range is desirable
•Ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents.
•Ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers.
•Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities.
•Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
Job Description:
•To be responsible for the daily management of the allocated room by implementing Realising the Ambition and Montessori philosophies, values and policies.
•Work with parents/carers of all children to achieve full potential in the setting.
•Meeting the needs of all children and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate.
•Help support a small team of Nursery Practitioners and encourage engagement.
•Maintain good communication skills within the team and ensure practice is reviewed on a regular basis.
•To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe setting policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.
The start date is ASAP and the salary will be negotiable depending on relevant qualifications and experience.
Due to the rural location of the setting, a driver with their own care is required. You will be working 40 hours weekly. This position will start ASAP and the salary will be competitive depending on relevant experience and qualifications In line with all professional expectations you will be required to become a member of the SSSC and PVG scheme.
