Boots UK is seeking an experienced and compassionate Independent Prescribing ADHD Nurse to join our Online Doctor service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading healthcare provider, delivering high-quality care to patients through a convenient online platform. About the role • Provide remote consultations for patients with recent ADHD diagnoses, helping to initiate and adjust medication as needed, all while working from home within the UK (attendance at the office for induction, training, or as required) • Follow NICE guidelines to ensure the highest standards of care when prescribing ADHD medications • Conduct all patient interactions through our secure IT platform, ensuring privacy and confidentiality • Undertake video or telephone consultations as necessary to provide accessible care for patients • Manage electronic prescriptions and ensure their accurate and timely delivery • Participate in regular audits of prescribing practices to maintain compliance and quality standards • Engage in ongoing professional development through our training events and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, both remotely and in person at our London office • Take responsibility for your continuous professional development (CPD) and skill enhancement • Participate in regular clinical supervision sessions with our Senior ADHD Prescribing Lead to ensure support and best practice What you’ll need to have • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration • Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300) • At least 1 year of experience in prescribing within ADHD care • A strong awareness of your professional limitations and a solid understanding of relevant national guidelines • Proven experience in consulting with patients, making independent decisions, and delivering safe, effective care • Confidence in making prompt decisions and knowing when to seek additional support • Experience in conducting risk assessments and identifying safeguarding concerns • A proactive, solution-oriented attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery • Strong IT skills and the ability to navigate digital healthcare platforms efficiently It would be great if you also have • Training and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Adult ADHD. • Previous experience in working within a newly established service, with an active role in service development. • Demonstrated experience in conducting ADHD diagnostic assessments. • A background in working within mental health services, with a strong understanding of the complexities involved in ADHD care.
