An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the OPD Divisional Management Team. This leadership role will provide operational responsibility and management for outpatients and CDC within the Division.
This is a fixed one-year role, or a one-year secondment will be considered subject to the approval of your current line manager.
Main duties of the job
This is a key leadership opportunity within the Division of D& S with an emphasis on flexible leadership balancing strategic plans with operational needs to ensure robust delivery, supporting the General Manager and Service Line Tri.
This will include successful budgetary management working to the expectations of the Division Financial Sustainability programme to enable delivery of our strategic goals.
Job responsibilities
* Provide leadership to areas managed, working with the General Manager and colleagues to manage the design and delivery of clinical/non-clinical services within the specialties.
* Develop a culture within areas managed in which all staff are delivering high-quality patient-centred clinical and support services.
* Responsible for identifying opportunities and formulating new service developments and initiatives, supporting the General Manager in preparing bids and ensuring business cases are produced for service developments, taking into account activity and income projections and resource allocations.
* Work with colleagues to review and redesign services to meet the needs of patients and enable the specialties to achieve key performance indicators and reduce costs.
* Support the General Manager in planning future capital developments for the specialties to deliver improved facilities for patients in line with the Trust's Strategic Plan.
* Develop robust mechanisms to ensure clear communication of service plans, objectives, and service changes within the specialties.
* Develop effective processes for monitoring and managing elective and emergency activity, identifying when performance falls below set standards and taking corrective action.
* Support the General Manager on the planning and implementation of cost reduction programmes for the division.
* Deliver safe, efficient, and effective delivery of care through the non-clinical management team.
* Monitor key workforce indicators that affect productivity and work with line managers and the Divisional HR Manager to address issues of concern.
* Support the General Manager in improving the effectiveness of clinical services.
* Take overall responsibility for the specialties responses to complaints, ensuring thorough investigations are undertaken.
