We have an 8a position available, which we are offering as a preceptorship (from band 7-8a). You will receive the clinical supervision and training required to meet the needs of this role, and we welcome final year clinical psychology applicants and those recently qualified.
You will have the opportunity to complete additional training, which includes Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with regular clinical supervision and guidance from a Highly Specialist Child Clinical Psychologist.

Main duties of the job
Our psychology team provides consultation, training, and clinical supervision to professionals based in health and social care. Psychologists in the Louth CORE team also provide specialist assessment and intervention to children/young people and their families, experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties, using evidence-based interventions.
As a psychologist in the Louth CAMHS team, you will be an integral part of a team which includes psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and mental health nurses.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the BPS; HCPC
* Registered member of HCPC
* Other related academic qualifications to Masters or Doctorate level.
* Clinical supervision training for doctorate trainees
* Additional specialist training related to working with children, young people and their families and carers
* Additional training in working with children and young people affected by abuse
* Additional training in neuropsychology assessments and interventions
* Registered member of BPS
* Eligible for chartered status as a clinical psychologist
Experience
* Experience of working as a trainee clinical psychologist with children and families where there are psychological concerns
* Experience of providing psychological assessment of children and young people
* Experience of developing and providing psychology interventions and intervention packages for children, young people and their families - individually; in groups; to whole families
* Experience of providing psychological advice to parents and carers and staff concerning the care and/or therapeutic provision for children and young people
* Knowledge of and experience of child protection and safeguarding issues and procedures
* Experience of working within multi-disciplinary and multi-agency settings
* Pre and post qualification experience of working with children, young people and their families and carers where there are psychological concerns
* Post qualification experience of providing clinical psychology assessments of children and young people
* Post qualification experience of developing and providing clinical psychology interventions and intervention packages for children, young people and their families
* Post qualification experience of providing clinical psychology advice to parents and carers and staff concerning the care and/or therapeutic provision for children and young people
* Pre or post qualification experience of working with children and young people affected by sexual abuse
* Pre or post qualifying experience of working with children and young people who are presenting with sexually concerning behaviours
* Experience of providing neuropsychology assessments of children and young people
* Experience of providing neuropsychology advice and guidance to parents, carers and staff concerning the care and treatment for children and young people
* Supervisory and consultative experience - to other psychologists; to other professions; to other agencies
Skills
* Ability to prioritise and organise commitments to meet deadlines
* Able to assess, provide, develop and implement specialist clinical psychology interventions; provide expert clinical psychology advice and opinion
* Ability to contribute to policy and service development forums and propose changes and developments
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology
* Knowledge of relevant child protection, safeguarding and mental health legislation and its implications for clinical practice when working with children, young people and their families / carers
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the HCPC and the BPS
* Experience of contributing to policy and service development forums and proposing changes and developments
* Experience of supervising more junior psychologists; volunteers; other professionals
