Binnies is recruiting a River and Wetland Lead to join our Solutions by Nature (SBN) team providing whole-lifecycle Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to the water sector and related industries. Following recent framework successes, we are seeking to continue the sustained growth and development of our team to meet the demands of our clients and future opportunities. Reporting to the SBN Technical Director, you will use your wide-ranging experience of project delivery (from concept to construction) to develop, design and deliver scaled NbS projects for a wide variety of clients and industries. You will be responsible for ensuring production of technical deliverables to the defined quality and programme requirements. This will be completed by coordinating a multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering project teams across Binnies, the RSK group and an extensive specialist supply chain. In addition to your role in project delivery, you will also support and be responsible for the preparation of winning proposals and tenders for new opportunities, developing the scope, methodology and technical resource requirement. Working with the wider Binnies team, you will contribute to business development activities by engaging with key client stakeholders to promote Binnies and develop a pipeline of projects in this emerging market. There will also be a need to support Binnies collaboration with institutes and universities in developing the graduates and professionals of tomorrow through development programmes, certifications and training opportunities. The location of the role is flexible, but you must be willing and able to travel to client, Binnies and RSK offices and project sites throughout the UK. Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of all technical elements for River and Wetland projects, managing multi-disciplinary technical resources across various internal teams, supply chain partners, and coordinating outputs to defined quality within the agreed timescale and budget. Provide key input to proposals, creating appropriate scopes / methodologies, Work Breakdown Structures and resourcing requirements along with authoring technical submissions. Liaison and collaboration with internal and external clients to develop relationships across the business. Use knowledge and experience to proactively engage with clients, positioning Binnies and offering solutions, to meet specific client challenges and develop relevant opportunities. Use knowledge and experience to proactively engage and support colleagues in Binnies delivering SuDS, Fish passage, Natural Capital and Ecological schemes. Qualifications / Attributes Bachelor's degree in relevant environmental science / engineering discipline preferred or any other degree, specialised training, or experience, that makes you qualified to perform the jobs responsibilities. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist with a relevant Professional Institution. Experienced and in-depth knowledge of the design and construction of River and Wetland NbS Projects Experienced in coordination of project and proposal technical deliverables, with an ability to balance multiple priorities and working teams. Leadership and collaboration skills to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams and create positive outcomes. Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving as an individual and as part of a team with a desire to find a solution.
