Deputy Superintendent
We are seeking a senior radiographer who wishes to work at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital so that they are surrounded by people who put patients first and are also keen to invest in themselves and the organisation.
The post-holder will be a radiographer who is keen to be part of an imaging service with a difference. Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust’s (CWHFT) imaging directorate is going through a period of transformational change where innovation is at the forefront of what we do.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the MRI Superintendent in providing the operational management and coordination of the MRI service at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the superintendents with coordination of the Quality Standards for Imaging accreditation.
Operationally they will be responsible for assisting in continual improvement of patient experience and quality of care improvement projects, vetting MRI requests, MRI protocol updates, training staff and students in MRI, department wide surveys and reviewing patient pathways.
The post holder must keep at the forefront of developments in MRI, and be able to implement them in our practices and workflow.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Successful applicants will be expected to produce high quality imaging services to assist in diagnosis and treatment and will also be responsible for training and supervising junior staff and students. Our staff are our most important asset which want to ensure reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:

* Assist the MRI Superintendent with the organisation of the MRI Department.
* Work closely with the MRI Physics/Siemens team to work on protocol development.

* Be conversant with a broad range of MRI scanning protocols.
* Ensure that policies, guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to.
* Assist with practical training of junior staff and student radiographers, acting as a role model through leading by example.

* Proactively demonstrate interest in developing oneself professionally by proposing QI projects, collecting data and presenting at governance days and conferences.
* Participate in research studies conducted at CWHFT, including those as part of Imperial College.
* Report and record all equipment faults as well as assist with the diagnosis and remedy of routine faults.
* Offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced by themselves or more junior staff in the course of their role.

* BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR (R) or accepted international equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* Post graduate qualification in imaging e.g. MRI
