Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic Retail Operation Assistant/s to work across our Charity Stores throughout Surrey and West Sussex.

Job responsibilities
This hands-on role requires a commitment to high standards of customer service and volunteer support. You will have previous experience of working in a customer service environment and have a flexible, enthusiastic approach. Previous retail experience is desirable, but full training will be provided.
Person Specification
Experience
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both in person and by telephone, effectively at all levels.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Experience of working in a customer care environment.
* Supervisory skills.
* Creativity (e.g. window display).
* Some knowledge of St Catherine's Hospice work in the community, including its charity shops.
* Awareness of statutory regulations including H&S legislation, trading standards, hygiene and retail premises.
* Second hand retail sector e.g. antiques.
* Current fashion trends.
Qualifications
* Good level of literacy and numeracy.
* Full driving licence or the ability to access public transport to travel across our trading locations.
Attitude and Behaviours
* Stamina and enthusiasm for hands-on physical work.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to motivate and empathise with hospice staff and volunteers.
* Flexibility and willingness to work in other locations and extra hours as and when required i.e. staff shortages/sickness/holiday cover.
* Willingness and desire to work in accordance with hospice values.
