What you will do
* Building a strong relationship with the external auditors and leading the external audit process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
* Work with the outsourced provider to develop the financial statements for the UK Group acting as reviewer
* Closing the financial ledgers each month, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly and all processes are efficiently delivered adopting a automated systemised approach wherever possible.
* Tackling complex accounting issues under the IFRS framework, providing and implementing solutions.
* Manage the UK Group consolidation and ensure timely, robust and accurate reporting into our shareholders.
* Work closely with the Financial Controller and act as a soundboard on all things central finance focused.
* Advise and implement internal controls that would help mitigate risk and improve accuracy of the financials.
* Act a s a line manager ensuring the team are given a platform to succeed and an ability to constantly develop.
* Deliver against company objectives by providing support and advice to other areas of finance as well as the wider business
* Always be willing to roll up your sleeves and muck in to deliver against a deadline, cover annual leave or simply to deliver on an objective
Who you are:
* Time spent in practice is preferred.
* Qualified Accountant, preferably ACA
* Strong financial acumen, with a deep understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
* Able to 'roll up your sleeves' when needed and be comfortable leading people as well as working autonomously.
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
* Ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and drive innovative solutions.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in financial software
