Automotive Mechatronics Engineer

My client is seeking an experienced Mechatronics Engineer to develop electronics hardware that controls electro-mechanical automotive components, such as automotive powered closure systems, adaptive/active suspension systems, powered aerodynamic devices.
Key Responsibilities: Automotive Mechatronics Engineer
1. Develop electronic hardware for prototype and production systems, conforming to OEM and national/international standards
2. More specifically develop electronic hardware for mechatronic systems to meet the expectations and requirements of customers including but not limited to:
3. Electronics hardware for controlling power modules for high current vehicle applications such as brushed and brushless motors
4. Development of control module software for in-house hardware applications
5. Diagnosis and repair of existing code for electrical/electronic/mechatronic systems
6. Establishment, concurrence, documentation and maintenance of software requirements and specifications for assigned projects
7. Lead the verification, validation and testing of developed hardware solutions for assigned projects
8. Assist in the development of project plans including timing and deliverables
9. Adhere to version control, requirements and change tracking
10. Be part of the development of engineering tools and development systems for electronic components
11. Work closely with other disciplines, such as outside suppliers and mechanical engineers, to achieve the project requirements
12. Stay up to date on the latest hardware design techniques, electronic chip technology and general industry trends
13. Document/present information obtained from conferences and training courses as required
Basic Requirements:
14. Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
15. Minimum 3 years of experience in Electronics Hardware design including:
16. Complex high-speed digital circuit design for embedded products
17. Wireless RF design – WiFi, BT, GPS, FM
18. Familiarity with microprocessor signals (high-speed busses, oscillators, USB, etc.), serial communications protocols and ARM architecture
19. Power supply / analog circuit design
20. Familiarity with Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requirements
21. PCB layout of multi-layer, compact HDI PCB designs which includes high speed digital interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIe, DDR, etc.), RF signals, analog and power supply circuits.
22. Component database administration including creation of schematic symbol, PCB footprints, and 3D models
23. Working with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on implementing the PCB layout design rules and requirements
24. Understanding of power electronics, DC and AC motors, motor controllers, power conversion, power storage, signal conditioning and digital communication
25. Experience with Hardware development for P-SPICE, A-SPICE, CMMI level compliance
26. Experience with device-driver level or application level software development
27. Experience developing embedded systems using:
28. C/C++ programming including MISRA Coding Standards, Embedded C(++)
29. Assembly level programming
30. Experience with computer-aided design and analysis tools such as:
31. MathWorks’s Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow or Labview
32. Experience with communication protocols including network modelling such as:
33. CAN, LIN, SPI, SENT, SSI
34. Experience with Proteus Designer or similar design tool for schematic capture and PCB design
