This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects within the Submarine programme, leveraging cutting-edge technology in the UK. The Systems Design team is crucial to the programme's success, providing extensive exposure and collaboration with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development of the system model, championing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) within the programme.
2. Assist the Engineering Manager with key engineering tasks and activities.
3. Support the development of design solutions to complex technical problems against agreed time, cost, and quality.
4. Support the development and management of Combat Systems requirements.
5. Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within requirements management tools, and endorsed by appropriate authority.
6. Understand contractual and performance requirements for Combat Systems and support definition and acceptance criteria.
7. Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers to system acceptance by the customer.
8. Work with various engineering teams to improve domain knowledge and subject matter expertise.
9. Guide and support more junior members of the team.
Job Requirements:
Essential
1. Background within a STEM subject.
2. Proven ability to solve problems.
3. Extensive stakeholder management skills at all levels with the ability to influence.
Desirable
1. Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards this.
2. Specific Systems Engineering experience and experience using tools such as IBM DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
3. Experience in leading small teams.
4. Experience in the relevant industry.
