Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.
About the role
Our specialist social housing offer has been created for people with health and social care support needs who may struggle to secure a home from other providers. We provide Intensive Housing Management and work with both Waythrough services and a wide range of external stakeholders to ensure our residents are enabled to manage and sustain their home, engaging with local opportunities and resources to meet their needs. Our homes are owned, leased or managed on behalf of other Registered Providers and include supported housing projects which are a mixture of hostel type provision, shared housing, small blocks of self-contained flats and dispersed one-, two- and three-bedroom properties spread across nationally.
Key focus of the role will be on:
* Maximising our income
* Reducing debt and rent arrears
* Taking the lead dealing with a range of financial related issues including dealing with council tax and utilities
* Preparing information for invoices
* Collating expenditure information and creating evidence files that are ‘audit ready’
* Managing our residential leases and providing recommendations in relation to extensions, renewals or disposals based on financial performance, occupancy, and the quality of the property working with housing officers and Team Managers
About you
* Experience of dealing with housing related financial issues that could be invoices, dealing with rent arrears, council tax and utility charges.
* Knowledge of Housing Law relevant to social housing, private landlords and tenants.
* Ability to support team to identify issues, problem solve, action plan.
* Experience in dealing with landlords and negotiating leases.
Additional Information
Hybrid working available- from home then on site based at Bowburn.
Full time 37 hours - 9am-5pm however there will be some flexibility (to be discussed at interview).
