Sanctuary Personnel is looking for an experienced and dedicated Finance Manager to join our team in Slough.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and mobilising resources proactively to contribute to the achievement of Slough Finance's ambition to be “Best in Class”, fostering a high performance and continuous improvement culture, delivering leading-edge financial and commercial management underpinned by robust analysis, and promoting best practice methods and standards.
The rate of pay for this role is £355.87 + P/D.
Responsibilities:
1. Help implement the council’s strategy on continuous service improvement to ensure delivery of its priorities and value to residents.
2. Provide clear information to support the future development of the service to enable the council to meet its future challenges with a culture of continuous improvement.
3. Contribute to the council’s strategic objectives by working actively with colleagues to build a strong and shared approach to service delivery including service improvement plans and utilising best practice commercial and financial management skills to deliver strong business cases and value for money.
4. Help embed changes in a sustainable way throughout the organisation.
5. Actively contribute to the integrated delivery, improvement, management, and performance of the service, commissioning and managing activity within the council and externally as required, ensuring overall objectives are translated into effective plans and that the service is efficient and locally responsive.
6. Be proactive in achieving tight budgetary control and prioritising the use of resources and assets to support the delivery of the council’s corporate plan vision, ensuring that the council receives value for money from its expenditure.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
2. CCAB/CIMA qualifications and a degree in a relevant field.
3. Ability to work flexibly, including some evening and weekend work, to meet the needs of service users.
4. Strong knowledge of the issues facing local government and those relevant to service/functional responsibilities, along with the legal, financial, and political context of public sector management and the statutory responsibilities of this post.
5. Effective presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
