Summary
Hull City Council Neighbourhoods and Housing Area Offices are looking to recruit a confident individual to join the area housing teams to help support day to day duties in providing excellent local housing management across the city. The successful person will deal with a variety of administrative task throughout the service, including enquiries.

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Deal with enquiries from customer and partners who contact the area housing teams by various means including email, service requests. Deal with enquiries, in person, over the phone and by email directing enquiries to the relevant team or person. Raising repair orders and contacting contractors and customers where required.
* Admin duties, uploading information onto the Housing system, checking Housing systems and other systems used by the service area.
* Support the service with low level income management, appointment setting, telephoning customers, taking payments via telephone, completion of relevant forms such as affordability assessments and benefit forms.
* On Occasion will carry out visits to inspect gardens/garges/sites.
* Stock ordering and raising of oracle orders.
* Use of various IT systems and recording of Data.
* There is the potential to be exposed to sensitive information and to handle this in the appropriate manner.

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.

Your training plan
You will be required to attend Craven Park Training and Enterprise Centre, Poorhouse Lane, Hull, HU9 5HE one day per week for your day release.

Other requirements
Successful candidate must be committed to completing the Apprenticeship. Working from the local housing offices within the City. There are 6 local housing offices and the post will be required to be based at one or more of these sites.
