Job description
Prospero Teaching are seeking to recruit an exceptional teacher to join the Science department of a good school based in York, starting immediately. This will be to support the delivery of an exceptionally rich curriculum to students in KS3 and KS4, which develops students and enables them to achieve strong results.
The successful candidate will have the energy and enthusiasm needed to inspire and motivate students. Also, you must have high expectations and want to work within an ambitious school that staff development and teamwork is the cornerstone to success.
Job Responsibilities
· To plan, prepare and deliver a range of lessons.
· To maintain individual records to monitor and track progress and inform planning and assessment.
· To direct the learning support assistants assigned to the class and work sportively and collaboratively as part of the team.
· To behave in a warm, friendly yet professional manner towards colleagues, children, and parents/carers.
· To share responsibility with colleagues for the general upkeep of the classroom, including care of resources and equipment.
· To attend and participate in meetings as required.
· To attend any INSET sessions and/or training for professional development
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent (to be offered supply teaching work)
· Previous experience working in a UK school would be ideal
· Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
· Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Provide two professional child related references
