Salary: £59,175 - £95,400 per annum (Pro-rata)
Contract: Substantive
Hours: Part-time: 6 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 4.5:1.5)
On call: None
Location: Mountnessing Court Inpatient Unit, 240 Mountnessing Road, Billericay, Essex, CM12 0EH.
Qualifications needed:
* Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
* Experience in the management of a broad range of physical disorders in older adults, including end-of-life care.
* At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
Main duties of the job:
* Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to older adult people with physical health needs, within a community based inpatient setting.
* Provide senior medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases.
* Provide guidance and supervision to the team.
* Work directly with older adult people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external older adult health providers, and acute hospitals.
* Work alongside 2wte Consultant Geriatrician and 0.4wte Specialty Doctor within the service and share clinical supervision requirements for the team.
* Develop links already established with the local acute trusts A& E departments and inpatient wards.
* Be responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care.
* Support your peers and the team manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative.
* Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
