Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
You will be dealing with customers on the telephone, booking in-site surveys for the Sales team, obtaining quotes from suppliers, sending information to suppliers, preparing quotes for customers and sending quotes, assisting with new business and logging all enquiries into the business, assisting with booking in meetings for the sales team, assisting with events for the company and advertising.
Additional duties will include:
* Provide excellent customer service via e-mail, telephone and internal messaging systems
* Day to day use of our database system,Microsoft Office- Outlook, Word and Excel
* Reception duties including face to face, meet and greet service to customers
* Deal with email enquiries
* Provide customers with advice, guidance and support
* Helping with customer issues, after care and service recovery
* Data organising/reporting
* Analysing customer satisfaction
* Working closely with other departments to ensure everything is managed accurately

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.

Your training plan
For this Apprenticeship Standard, learners will have the opportunity to give focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the standard that will allow for good business acumen, decision making and the understanding of tools and techniques in relation to time and project management.
The completion of this Apprenticeship Standard will require monthly training visits from a qualified IPS Trainer to help support the Apprentice. This will allow them to develop skills and progress the building of the Apprentice portfolio to prepare the learner for End Point Assessment.
Delivery is primarily carried out through remote visits, but the trainer will visit the learner’s workplace quarterly and at the start of training to allow for a good working relationship between all parties for smooth delivery of the Standard. Upon successful completion, the learner will achieve the Level 3 Business Administrator Standard qualification.
