Post Definition/Purpose
The post holder is responsible for the decant process, ensuring that parts are decanted appropriately and labelled correctly for despatch. Ensuring that you are working to strict safety and quality requirements to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer requirements with some supervision from a Team-Leader.
Key Responsibilities
• Process orders through automated racking system in line with customer requirements, ensuring that procedures and policies are followed at all times.
• Ensure that all decanted parts are labelled correctly for despatch by adhering to G-Tekt labelling & packaging policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of working safely by working in a safe manner at all times complying with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
• Complete timesheets to account for “up and down time” on a daily basis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities, for example submitting suggestions to improve the process flow to increase the production cell efficiency or improve health & safety on the shop-floor.
• To keep the area clean and tidy throughout the day in line with 3S standards.
• Support 5s activities throughout the shop-floor (Sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain).
• To follow instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness and to adhere to safety guidelines.
• Actively participate in training and development activities identified for either personal and/or team development advancement.
• To be prepared to undertake and support other reasonable requests made by the company.
Skills & Abilities
• Previous factory/manufacturing experience is desirable.
• Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete required production paper-work, reasonable adjustments can be discussed.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Important to be physically fit as this is a demanding role, which includes safe manual handling of steel components.
• Must be time-flexible.
• Able to work within tight deadlines and with minimum supervision.
• Possess good eye for detail – the ability to quickly identify quality defects, process change points etc.
• Good manual dexterity, reasonable adjustments can be discussed.
• Able to make a positive contribution to the team/department.
• Shows openness, honesty and has a collaborative approach when working with others around the business.
• Is resilient, optimistic and open to challenge.
• Ability to learn quickly.
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
• Previous experience in Automotive Manufacturing would be advantageous.
Package
• 25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays
• 37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday.
• Fixed term contract ongoing potentially leading to permanent contracts.

AM – 06.00am – 14.50pm - Monday to Thursday
06.00am – 12.10pm - Friday
