We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Corporate Governance Manager to join our Aviva Investors team within our High Performing Corporate Governance Function. The role will focus on acting as a trusted advisor to the boards and related entities and supporting the Head of Corporate Governance in the delivery of their accountabilities and assisting in the provision of high-end corporate governance support enabling the boards within Aviva Investors to set and achieve the strategic goals.
This is truly an exciting role to be a part of the Aviva Investors Corporate Governance team, as well as engaging with directors and senior stakeholders across the business. This role could be ideal for you if you enjoy the corporate governance and company secretarial landscape, acting as a source of guidance and input into the development of corporate governance practices, and providing advice on the business impact.
A bit about the job:
The Corporate Governance function is a strategically important Aviva team providing high quality corporate governance and company secretarial support and advice across the Aviva Group boards and committees. As the Senior Corporate Governance Manager – Aviva Investors (reporting into the Head of Corporate Governance Aviva Investors), you will be responsible for working within a high performing team on providing timely and best practice corporate governance advice and assurance, and company secretarial services. You would be required to provide support and advise on Company Law, Regulatory Rule compliance activity, relevant codes of corporate governance, and other related rules, regulations and guidelines. Supporting, advising and training directors of companies within Aviva Investors to ensure that their statutory duties are discharged effectively is a critical element of the role, in addition to ensuring statutory filings and records are made and kept up to date at all times. The Aviva Investors Governance team supports the Aviva Investors boards and committees globally including those entities domiciled in the UK, Luxembourg, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, and Jersey.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Strong experience delivering high-quality Corporate Governance Services, preferably within a regulated asset management industry. Fellow/Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute (FCIS/ACIS) or qualified lawyer.
2. Proven experience delivering high-quality Company Secretarial and Corporate Governance support in a fast-paced environment. Commercial driven with working knowledge of the asset management regulatory environment and related industry developments.
3. Strong stakeholder management and engagement experience at all levels, particularly with executive and non-executive directors of asset management companies.
4. Proven extensive minute writing experience (ideally within a regulated environment) and producing other governance documents to a high standard and accurately.
5. Self-motivated and highly organised with a proven track-record of taking ownership and responsibility, with the ability to lead and coach more junior members of a team.

* Salary circa £110,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications
