We are seeking an enthusiastic Governance Officer to join Governance and Executive Services. We are looking for someone who has the transferable skills to make the most of this opportunity.
In this position, you will play a key role providing essential administrative support for the Governance team, so we would expect you to have a keen interest in administration and governance.
What can you expect?
A friendly and supportive team working in a fast-paced and professional environment, committed to the continual improvement in the standards of the delivery of governance services. Our team shares a passion for governance, but what helps us succeed are the different ideas and experiences of our people, who come from a mix of cultures and backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to governance processes, maintaining records for centrally supported committees.
2. Assist with the collation and circulation of papers.
3. Provide administrative support for effectiveness reviews.
4. Service a number of committees or working groups.
What are we looking for?
Your attention to detail will be important and you will need good communication skills. You will be a proactive, self-motivated individual who is able to work flexibly and respond appropriately to changing priorities. You will be a team player who is very organised. You will have some experience of committee servicing, including minute taking.
Diversity is vital to the effective operation of governance; therefore, we would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups and those with protected characteristics.
The post is offered on a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours per week) contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
At the University of Nottingham, we are committed to providing generous employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have an excellent choice of benefits and rewards, including access to fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with 27 days' holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.
