Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a friendly, hardworking and experienced Clerical Officer to join our Rheumatology Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with good communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative; you will provide vital administrative support for the Osteoporosis Clinical Nurse Specialist and Consultants.
The ideal candidates will have previous clerical experience with a high level of computer literacy and will be able to deal effectively with prioritising workload and deadlines. The post holder must be able to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as a member of the Rheumatology/Osteoporosis team providing efficient and effective administration and secretarial support for the Rheumatology clinical services.
2. Maintain a close working relationship with the Directorate Service Manager and Consultants as well as other medical, admin, and nursing staff within the service.
3. Monitor and validate the osteoporosis/dexa waiting times, escalating issues and concerns to the Directorate Service Manager as necessary.
4. Handle general administration duties such as dealing with patient/colleague queries, outpatient booking and planning, and data collection.
5. Type outpatient clinic letters, print dexa reports, and enter referrals onto WPAS.
6. Manage own workload and act independently.
7. Work across sites to ensure the service’s needs are met.
Person specification
Qualification & Knowledge
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent experience, Grade C or above
* Level 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience/knowledge in Business Administration or similar
* ECDL or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
Experience
* Experience of working in an administrative/office environment
* Ability to work to meet deadlines
* Ability to prioritise
* Ability to use MS Office & virtual platforms
* Welsh speaker (Level 1)
