The Technical Lead is a pivotal role in the organisation; the aim of the role is to use knowledge, skills and experience to support textile production across the teams with technical engineering solutions, working to lean principles to improve production efficiency. You will create and manage the site maintenance plans to reduce breakdowns and increase efficiency, liaising with Team Leaders to ensure that faults and repairs are documented for action. Control a stock of spare parts for all machinery and ensure a safe and organised area. Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns you will repair where the fault is within your own capability and where external expertise is required you will manage contractors on site ensuring visitor protocols are adhered to. Where possible learn from contractors and other colleagues and contribute into the company knowledge bank. Your adaptable skills base and flexible attitude will support production operations across all the teams, offering practical technical expertise and advice with a variety of matters including gear changes, and jacquards. You will be eager to support the learning of others, thereby building technical skills and knowledge as well as organisational and self-management skills and working within a healthy and safe working environment. What you need to be successful in this role: A passion for creating beautiful, sustainable fabrics Proven experience in a similar role within textiles engineering, production, or maintenance with demonstrable outcomes to efficiency and quality, within a healthy and safe working environment Hands-on skills and the ability to operate machinery and power tools safely Basic user level of computer technology as a minimum, Microsoft Office, email with the ability and confidence to learn new systems and software Knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting The ability to read technical drawings and machine/operating manuals, presented in various media The ability to write SSOWs, and to train colleagues on the systems, creating feedback and processes reviews Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude A flexible and proactive approach to tasks with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The willingness and ability to share your knowledge, skills and experience with others in an informal as well as structured way. Willingness to learn and appreciate the wider picture not just that of your own area; take an interest in our customers and appreciate our values This role is full time 39 hours per week offered on a weekly rotating shift basis with core rotation of 6am to 2pm (1pm on Fridays) and 2pm to 10pm, 1pm to 8pm on Fridays.
