Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hydrometry and monitoring team. The role involves visiting various sites, primarily undertaking field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, etc. Additionally, responsibilities include installing, operating, and maintaining telemetry logging equipment.
Responsibilities
* Conduct field measurements of water quantity, depth, quality, and rainfall.
* Install, operate, and maintain telemetry logging equipment.
* Ensure safety protocols are followed while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Travel to various sites as required.
Minimum Requirements
* A passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Confidence in working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Good level of computer literacy (MS Office applications – Word, Excel).
* Valid UK driving license with a satisfactory driving history.
* Demonstrates awareness of potential risks and safety protocols.
* Holds GCSE qualifications or equivalent in Geography, Maths, and English, or a background in an environmental-related discipline.
* Experience in hands-on tasks, including use of power and hand tools.
* Possess a valid UK driver's license for 12 months or more.
Experience
* Full training is provided; prior experience is not required provided you possess the essential skills listed above.
* Experience with hydrometric field data collection is beneficial but not essential.
Aptitude and Attributes
* Dependable and flexible/adaptable approach.
* Proactive with a willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Passion for the water and environment sector.
* Team player with the ability to work independently.
* Possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Outdoor Education, etc.) is desirable.
