A St Albans law firm with a commitment to excellence and innovation is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to manage the day-to-day financial running of the firm.
The firm is well established and operates using up-to-date technology which facilitates being virtually paperless and allows lawyers to work from home. This role would suit someone local as it is mostly office-based.
Duties
1. Ensure compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations.
2. Supervise banking functions including bank reconciliations.
3. Process client and office accounting transactions including postings.
4. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
5. Supervise and assist in the sending of monies by electronic transfer.
6. Control designated client deposit accounts including monthly reconciliation.
7. Manage all 3rd party fees.
8. Raise invoices and manage debtors.
9. Manage supplier invoices and payments.
10. Deal with any accounts/invoice queries from team members and/or clients.
11. Assist with the annual professional indemnity insurance & CQS renewal processes.
Skills
1. Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
2. Sound knowledge of SAR and legal accounting practices.
3. Competent in using legal accounting software (Leap & Xero).
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
5. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
7. Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (ILFM, AAT, ACCA) would be advantageous.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
