Job summary We have a great opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team here at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. This role will be instrumental in supporting the development & delivery of the financial reporting provision for the Trust, along with support for costing, planning, forecasting and various sources of income data across the acute sites. You will be responsible for helping to ensure that financial reporting is aligned to the latest available guidance, and provide administrative support during the development of financial improvement schemes and business cases. Main duties of the job The ability to analyse and manage financial and business operations is fundamental in supporting the success of the values and strategic objectives of the Trust. As a Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of financial information services to a significant part of the trusts business, ensuring that divisional teams have the information that they require to deliver the highest quality and most appropriate services to our patients. In addition, the Senior Management Accountant will help to ensure that high quality analysis is available to support the delivery of key performance targets, supporting the finance and corporate functions with many of their reporting needs. To provide financial analysis of the Division's clinical and non-clinical activities To oversee the preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts for the Division, working with the Divisional Finance Manager on the monthly reporting, trend and variance analysis. Support the Divisional Finance Manager in developing scenario appraisals within Business Cases for new services or investments To support the Division's Cost Improvement Plan(CIP), including costing, tracking and transacting CIP Schemes. Working collaboratively with Care Group and Service managers to effectively forecast, highlight risks and opportunities. Playing a key role in annual budget setting and supporting divisional teams prepare their annual business plans.
