As our Care Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. As a regulated business, we expect the candidate to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and be familiar with all relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to our residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and direction to the home’s staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion, and empathy.
2. Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a team of skilled care professionals committed to delivering person-centred care.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain high standards of care and support.
4. Manage the home’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
5. Develop and implement marketing strategies to maintain full occupancy and promote the home’s services to potential residents, families, and stakeholders.
6. Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders, responding effectively to their needs and concerns.
7. Oversee administrative tasks, ensuring records are maintained accurately and promptly.
8. Monitor and evaluate the home’s performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
9. Manage and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.
Skills and attributes
1. Proven experience as an exceptional nursing home manager.
2. Previous commissioning experience.
3. Registered with the CQC, or previously registered.
4. Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and stakeholders.
5. Strong leadership skills to inspire and manage a team of care professionals.
6. Good understanding of financial management and budgeting.
7. Familiarity with relevant legislation and CQC standards.
8. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
10. Excellent IT, organizational, and administrative skills with attention to detail.
11. Passion for delivering exceptional care and support.
Education and qualifications
* NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience (desirable but not essential).
