Learning Support Advisor and Coordinator
Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster.
Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.
This role is an essential member of the Royal Navy’s Learning and Development Organisation (LDO) at HMS Raleigh primarily supporting phase 1 trainees.
The role will work to provide informative and supportive advice and guidance to phase 1 trainees on the future of their service careers as well as ensuring key administrative and organisational tasks are completed with information being shared with Royal Navy colleagues.
This role is Fixed Term for 12 months and is a Term time only role with 2 weeks holiday at Christmas and Easter and 4 weeks in August.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
1. Carrying out supportive and insightful personnel selection and early service leaver interviews
2. Providing administration activities and support for the phase 1 staff and LDO services
3. Producing/recording and administering documentation.
4. Supporting SpLD/neurodiversity staff in the identification of learners needing SpLD/ND support.
5. Signposting personnel for further advice and guidance for SpLD and neurodiversity support and resettlement and educational opportunities
What we’re looking for:
1. Previous experience of working with Phase 1 trainees would be highly advantageous
2. Experience in the Royal Navy or Armed Forces
3. Coaching/mentoring experience would be desirable
4. Excellent administration and IT skills
5. Ability to be calm in difficult situations
6. Excellent personal skills
7. Ability to obtain UK SC clearance
