The Role
Lancaster City Council Compliance and Asset Management Team is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will enjoy undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. You will be a member of a team dedicated to ensuring resident safety in Council Housing stock and public buildings. This team is responsible for managing risks related to the “Big 6” – Asbestos, Electrical Systems, Fire, Gas, Lifting equipment, and Water hygiene. You will interact with a range of repairs and maintenance services staff and colleagues within the overall Housing and Property service and external contractors.
In this role, you will be responsible for inputting data relating to the “Big 6”. A key requirement for this role is accuracy, and you will be expected to have a methodical approach regarding the inputting of data into specific Excel workbooks and Housing IT/asset systems. This data provides the Council assurance that work is being carried out and recorded in accordance with its policies and procedures. In this role, you will also deal with customer enquiries via telephone and e-mail. Additionally, you must be flexible in your approach to the overall workload of the team.
This post will be based at Lancaster Town Hall. This post is a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to cover a secondment period, which will be due to end on 31.03.25. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week and can be discussed further if you are selected for an interview.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00 am - 10:30 pm.
