Location: Valleys Innovation Centre, Abercynon (fixed base) – Hybrid working at approved training venues
Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working policy)
Grade: 8 £16.92 per hour (£32,654 per annum)
Rhondda Cynon Taff wish to appoint 2 Training Officers to work at Valleys Innovation Centre, CF45 4SN to complement our existing team.
Catering Services are incorporated into the 21st Century Schools & Transformation Division. This diverse catering team boasts a portfolio of many skillsets, which link together to support and co-ordinate the daily delivery of School meals & the Community Meals service, and other projects within Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The training team support a wide-ranging audience, organising and delivering training and supporting development, which primarily focuses on subjects of Food Safety, First Aid and other aspects of catering, i.e. Manual Handling, Allergens etc.
The team facilitates eLearning, delivers face to face training in group sessions, and is occasionally required to deliver 1 to 1 support for those who would benefit from it.
All Council employees are required to undertake a mandated e-learning, and the Training Officer will play an integral role in ensuring employees can access and participate in this learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver suitable and sufficient training opportunities for all Catering Services staff.
* Ensure own personal development.
* Deliver and develop a range of training as required.
* Assist with the development and monitoring of the Training plan.
* Support and promote engagement in online training.
* Maintain accurate records on training undertaken, course feedback etc.
* Liaise with other training providers.
* Undertake on-site induction training for new staff.
* Support School based staff with continuous professional development.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a recognised Trainer Qualification and be experienced in delivering training.
- Provide a good understanding of catering operations, and experience of using basic technology (such as Microsoft Office, or other digital platforms).
