Maths Teacher – Permanent Role in Exeter (EX1)
A well-regarded secondary school in Exeter is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of A-Level teaching for a suitably qualified candidate. The school has a strong focus on numeracy and critical thinking, ensuring students gain confidence in applying mathematical concepts in real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to a diverse range of learners
* Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for A-Level teaching
* Foster a love for Mathematics and encourage students to develop strong problem-solving skills
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support
* Use a range of teaching strategies, including interactive and practical activities, to enhance engagement
* Work collaboratively with the Maths department to develop and refine schemes of work
* Contribute to extracurricular activities such as Maths clubs, competitions, and intervention sessions
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential)
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Mathematics
* Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage students of all abilities
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching practice
* Ability to contribute to whole-school numeracy initiatives
