8:30am – 4:30pm Mon-Friday (term time) 35 weeks plus inset days
Set within 14 acres of beautiful grounds within a conservation area close to Burgess Hill town centre, we are a thriving day and boarding school for girls aged 2-18.
Due to a long-standing member of staff retiring, we are looking for an experienced science technician to join our Science department from Sept 2025. Ideally, you will have had experience working in a school laboratory and be able to support the practical and technical aspects of the Senior school science curriculum. Further information can be found on our candidate pack.
If you would like to be considered for the role, please complete an application form and send to Mrs Claire Morley, HR and Recruitment at hr@burgesshillgirls.com
Please note we will only accept completed application forms and not CVs.
The closing date is Friday 21 February 2025.
However, we will consider applications on receipt so early submission is advisable. We reserve the right to interview and appoint at any stage of the process.
References for shortlisted candidates will be taken in advance of the interview. All Interviews will be conducted in person, and they will explore candidates’ suitability to work with children.
Our posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask all shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
Candidates are required to bring with them the necessary ID documentation and any relevant qualification certificate(s), all of which must be originals. Further information of the interview format will be provided if you are shortlisted for interview.
Burgess Hill Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, relevant original ID documentation and examination certificates. The School understands that a robust, fair and transparent recruitment and selection policy plays a central role in achieving this aim.
Burgess Hill Girls is committed to ensuring that the recruitment and selection of staff is conducted in a manner that is systematic, efficient and fair, promoting equality of opportunity for all applicants.
