About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our team on a locum basis at a prison facility in Birmingham starting in October 2024. This position provides a unique opportunity to deliver essential primary care services within a challenging and impactful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and diagnostic assessments of inmates.
* Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including the management of chronic conditions and acute medical issues.
* Clinical Care: Provide direct medical care, including medication management, minor surgical procedures, and patient education.
* Consultation: Offer expert advice and support to prison healthcare teams and staff regarding general medical care.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: GMC registered with current inclusion on the GMC Register.
* Experience: Recent experience in a similar role, preferably within a prison or forensic setting.
* Training: Up-to-date training and competencies related to general practice.
* References: Two clinical references from recent roles.
* DBS Check: Enhanced DBS clearance.
* Right to Work: Valid Right to Work in the UK, or appropriate visa documentation if not a UK citizen.
* Insurance: Public Indemnity Insurance.
* Documentation: All relevant documents must be submitted with your application.
