Role purpose The Polaris programme is a 3-year global finance transformation initiative aimed at strengthening Flutter Edge and achieving a $100 billion enterprise value. It focuses on scaling services for business growth, creating employee opportunities, and fulfilling US reporting and control obligations. The programme will replace existing Oracle and SAP systems with an Oracle Cloud, introducing a new financial information model. Standardising finance processes and ensuring compliance with evolving reporting requirements, it involves changes across people, processes, and technology. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Communications Lead to spearhead the communication strategy for Polaris, a pivotal three-year global finance transformation programme at Flutter Entertainment plc. This role will be instrumental in driving stakeholder engagement and ensuring a smooth transition to a future-fit finance organisation. The Polaris Communications Lead will be responsible for designing and delivering impactful communication campaigns that champion understanding and adoption of the changes brought about by Polaris. This will involve engaging stakeholders and teams across various central functions and brand-led divisions within Flutter. A Senior Communication Manager will report to the lead and both will be responsibility for developing communications. The role will be part of the Internal Flutter Communications team but will work solely in the Polaris programme with a dotted line to the Polaris Business Readiness Lead Accountabilities & responsibilities Stakeholder management and engagement Act as a trusted advisor to programme leadership on all aspects of communication and engagement, providing strategic counsel and expert guidance. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Flutter, including senior management and project teams. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, address concerns, and foster a culture of open communication and transparency. Strategic leadership and planning Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy for Polaris, outlining clear objectives, principles, key messages, target audiences, communication channels, timelines, and success measures. Collaborate with senior leadership, including the Programme Director and Business Readiness, to define communication objectives aligned with the programme's goals, particularly focusing on supporting change adoption and business readiness. Lead and execute the Programme communication and engagement plan, ensuring the appropriate development, review and sign off processes are adhered too. Proactively anticipates communication needs and opportunities, developing innovative and forward-thinking strategies. Align the communication strategy with the overall programme plan and change management approach, ensuring seamless integration and consistent messaging. Lead one other communication professional supporting with the Polaris communications effort. Create a detailed communication timeline that aligns with the programme's milestones and phases and coordinate the timing and delivery of key messages to avoid information overload and ensure absorption. Monitor progress and adjust the communication and engagement plan as needed to address emerging challenges or opportunities. Ensure seamless integration of communication efforts across different programme workstreams / activities. Design and deliver engaging communication campaigns and materials, establish cadence of output aligned to programme outcomes / milestones and leveraging a variety of channels and formats (e.g., digital platforms, intranet, presentations, videos, events, meetings) to reach diverse audiences effectively). Develop monthly newsletter and fortnightly leadership updates Develop go-live readiness and cutover communications. Including develop specific communication strategies for the cutover phase to ensure smooth transitions. Preparing stakeholders for changes by providing clear, concise, and timely information. Manage communication channels to support real-time updates and feedback during the cutover period. evaluating the effectiveness of cutover communications and make improvements for future initiatives. Skills & capabilities Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and navigate complex organisational dynamics. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies. A deep understanding of change communication principles and strategies, particularly in the context of large-scale transformation programmes. Proficient in using various digital communication tools and platforms, including content management systems, email marketing platforms (e.g., Poppulo), messaging and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack), and social media. Collaborative and collegiate with internal comms counterparts across the business Experience crafting compelling narratives and translating technical information into engaging content that resonates with different audiences. Be highly organised, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & experience Extensive experience in a senior communications role, with a proven track record of leading communication strategies for large-scale transformation programmes. Experience working in complex, global organisations, preferably within the finance or technology sectors. Experience in the betting and gaming industry is a plus. Strong understanding of project management methodologies and experience working effectively within a matrix model involving multiple contributors. Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, as well as video editing software (e.g., Final Cut Pro). Professional certifications in change management or communications are highly advantageous. Measure of success High levels of stakeholder awareness, understanding, and engagement with the Polaris programme. Effective communication that supports change management efforts and promotes the adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working.
