Kitchen Assistant. Longridge Hall Care Home
£11.49 per hour
27.5 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
Shifts: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Nestled in the heart of Longridge, Longridge Hall Care Home is a warm and welcoming residential care facility where residents feel truly at home. With unique amenities such as a reminiscence lounge, a chapel, and an indoor sensory garden, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and enriching environment for all. Our long-standing Care Home Manager, Tracey, has been with us for over a decade, providing both professional expertise and a personal touch to our residents and staff.
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team, supporting the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in line with dietary requirements
Ensuring the kitchen and food storage areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with food safety regulations
Washing up and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all kitchen and dining areas
Supporting the chef with food preparation, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
Receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring stock rotation and minimising waste
Assisting in maintaining kitchen records, such as temperature checks and cleaning schedules
Engaging with residents in a friendly and respectful manner while supporting their mealtime experience

*Overtime is paid for working over fulltime hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’.
What We’re Looking For:
A positive, hardworking, and reliable team player
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (training provided)
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
A friendly and compassionate attitude when engaging with residents
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential
