You are responsible for commercial aspects of the project, providing commercial support and advice to the team to aid decision making, maintaining commercial information, and ensuring compliance with the contractual requirements. You’ll be passionate about delivering projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be able to display a high level of technical, financial and commercial acumen and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team.
What you'll do:
• Monitor contract progress against the agreed programmes.
• Control costs against agreed budgets/end cost forecasts with direction from the Cost and Project Manager.
• Agree interim valuations and final accounts, prepare and agree any necessary claims for reimbursements and for loss & expense through constructive dialogue with all third parties on all commercial matters.
• They will evaluate potential implications for dispute resolution and to contribute and develop as appropriate quality, health & safety, welfare and risks in accordance with the companies’ management systems. This includes:
• Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for budgets.
• Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems.
• Procurement of subcontractors and preparation of subcontractor order documentation.
• Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments and ensuring required Payer /Payless notices as issued.
Requirements
• Have a degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts particularly the NEC Forms of Contract.
• Sound commercial awareness
• Experience with project management tools (Aconex, CEMAR, viewpoint, etc.)
