The Role…
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will spearhead the Aftermarket strategy for the UK Water Market, driving growth, customer focus, and innovation. This position is crucial in expanding Howden's influence and product offerings within the sector, creating long-term partnerships with UK water utilities. With a special focus on maintaining and increasing the installed base of compression systems, and introducing new high-speed drive products such as CubusTurbo, the RSM will play a pivotal role in driving revenue and securing a greater market share.
Aftermarket Growth: Lead efforts to expand Howden’s service and maintenance offerings for the UK’s aging compressor fleet, targeting utilities across the UK and maximising the potential revenue of $7-8M annually.
New Product Introduction: Introduce and promote Howden’s CubusTurbo and Chart Water products, ensuring availability and competitive pricing to secure sales growth and open up additional revenue streams.
Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with water authorities to drive both service retention and new installations, while actively engaging in cross-selling and upselling opportunities across Howden's product portfolio.
Strategic Expansion: Contribute to Howden’s long-term growth strategy by identifying new market opportunities, securing major projects, and executing key initiatives within the water market.

What will you do…
* Develop a top down sales approach within the Water Authorities and create a strategy to grow the business whilst satisfying the customer priorities.
* Identify high priority customers and opportunities that will deliver the budgeted bookings for the Market assigned.
* Develop existing clients and identify potentially new clients through direct contact and in giving presentations in the companies’ products and capabilities.
* Solicit enquiries for the supply of aftermarket turbo compressor parts and services, influencing clients where possible to specify Howden.
* Manage and assist in the preparation of tenders and further clarification of clients and company requirements.
* Lead team on preparing, securing and managing any major projects, re-vamps re-rates and upgrades.
* Negotiating contracts with clients while maintaining agreed contribution levels.
* Ensure negotiated contracts are correct and of sufficient detail to pass to the Project Manager for execution.
* Identify and report on new market opportunities for our products
* Support the marketing function through reports, client interface, and intelligence data gathering.
What do you bring…
An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:
* Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Engineering or related field or experience commensurate with a degree.
* Significant relevant business experience including sales, marketing, product management, engineering, product development and/or field service.
* Strong product knowledge and experience of rotating equipment.
* Industry experience in the Water Market.
* Experience of global sales and an understanding of the diversity and cultural differences and how to operate effectively in the region.
* An intimate knowledge of rotating equipment as utilized in air and gas handling.
* Experience selling highly engineered equipment and products, as well as services.
* Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with customers, reps and internal customers.
* Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation and customer issue resolution skills.
* Proficient in use of CRM.
