Key Responsibilities of the IT Teacher: Deliver high-quality lessons in IT and Computer Science, covering subjects such as programming, data analysis, networking, and digital literacy. Develop and implement creative and engaging teaching materials for IT students. Encourage students to think critically and solve problems using technology. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in technology, incorporating them into the curriculum. Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed. Contribute to the development of the IT curriculum, suggesting innovative ideas and projects. Provide extracurricular opportunities for students to explore technology beyond the classroom. Support students in developing skills that will help them succeed in the rapidly evolving tech industry. Key Skills and Qualifications: Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong knowledge of IT and Computer Science, with experience teaching programming, databases, networking, and other core IT topics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for technology and a commitment to student success. Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons. Experience teaching IT or Computer Science in secondary education is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with teaching software, coding languages (such as Python or Java), and digital tools is a plus.
