The successful candidate will ideally posses both current knowledge and experience within the Food Production/Factory environment, and equally hold a similar position currently or seeking for professional development from a senior production operative who's worked within a team of 5 -10 people. As a Line Leader you will be accountable for your production line and production team, ensuring all operates smoothly to achieve daily targets. This role will require you to communicate with your team, delegate responsibilities, report any issues albeit staff, machinery or production related to a Team Leader or Floor Line Manager within the premises (all of whom are very hands on and already working on the floor). There are various production lines and as a Line Leader you must be able to retain information about each line as to how it operates. If you have or are already working within the Food Production sector, this will be highly advantageous and equally relatable. As part of the "make-up" within this company, their ethos is to ensure all their staff are multi-skilled, therefore you will work across all lines within the premises on a rotational basis. With this, comes the responsibility to ensure that your team of 5-10 people are operating adhering to all health and safety and food hygiene standards at all times. This role is available on a full-time temporary to permanent basis, however for the right candidate, our client is open to conversations about an immediate permanent position being offered. The initial rate of pay is £11.79 an hour, rising to £12.54 post a successful 3 month probationary period. In addition you'll also benefit from:- · Free car parking · Pension · Company Profit Related Bonus · Free drinks · Free PPE · Site-shop. · Training provided · Refer a friend scheme - £250 · Overtime available · Life Assurance · Cycle to work scheme Your Key responsibilities include: • Manage and maximise the productivity and efficiencies of your team and equipment through targeted KPI’s. • To motivate and develop the skill base of your team members including online training where necessary. • Accurate scanning and completion of line documentation. • Completion of daily equipment safety checks • Metal detection and check weighing where necessary. • Ensure Health & Safety procedures, Quality/Hygiene standards and Company Rules/Procedures are always adhered to. • You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time, as the Company may reasonably request/require. Experience & Skills Essential • Self-motivated and able to work with your own initiative. • Experience of managing a team. • Good level of numeracy & literacy to carry out area reporting activities • IT skills • Industrious and able to prioritise tasks to deadlines. Desirable • basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months) • Food/process manufacturing background Knowledge and understanding of allergen awareness, food safety and health & safety. • Understanding of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) • Health & Safety trained in Manual handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and risk assessment The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 16.00hrs and Friday 5.30am – 14.00hrs off season. During Peak Season (late May/June through to December) the hours of work alter to a weekly rotational shift pattern of Monday - Friday 05:15 - 14:00 and Monday - Friday 14:00 - 22:15. Due to the location of the company it is essential that you have your own transport.
