About the Role We are seeking an individual to take on a key role in supporting and co-ordinating our Trainee Solicitors and Apprentices, while managing and enhancing the Flex Trainee programme through process development and growth initiatives. The role would suit someone comfortable in a fast moving scale-up environment, full of ideas, and happy working with people. Flex Trainee continues to grow, and we currently have over 70 legal trainees and apprentices seconded to a variety of in-house legal teams, including BioNTech, Tesco, Fremantle Media, Mars, Ford, and Santander. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Trainee Success, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our trainees and apprentices throughout their exams and qualifying work experience, while driving innovation within Flex HQ. Your responsibilities will include: Mentoring and co-ordinating trainees, apprentices, and CoSec trainees through their exams, studies, qualifying work experience, and professional development. Monitoring trainee and apprentice progress by fostering strong relationships with our external training and apprenticeship partners. Reporting to the Head of Trainee Success on activities across all areas of Flex Trainee, including monthly project check-ins, mentoring meetings, study progress, exam results, and trainee journals. Taking ownership of new projects, ideas, and initiatives across the business to ensure the growth and success of the Flex Trainee programme. Support with the design, development, and delivery of our internship programmes and partnerships. Working closely with the Head of Trainee Success on performance management and engagement across all trainees and apprentices. Assisting our Business Operations Lead with onboarding new clients and supervisors to the Flex Trainee programme, including training supervisors on best practices, managing onboarding documentation, and facilitating introductions to trainees and key contacts. Collaborating with the Commercial and Growth team to ensure a seamless approach to onboarding new businesses to the Flex Trainee programme. Working closely with the Business Operations Lead to ensure that contractual documentation is processed efficiently. Troubleshooting any issues or roadblocks with both trainees and supervisors to ensure everyone has a positive experience as part of Flex Trainee. Supporting the Head of Trainee Success and Head of Talent with interviews and assessment centres for upcoming cohorts. Advocating for social mobility in the legal industry and supporting our mission to close the inequality gap. Ideally, someone with some familiarity and a background in the legal industry. Based in London, with the ability to commute to our offices at least two days a week.
